READ ME! Mijas Pueblo is a town set on the mountain side of Malaga, about 35 minutes from the city center. This typical Andalucian white village offers a perfect day trip in Spain with a lot of great eateries and stunning panoramic view points of the coast below.

What to See

Ermita de la Virgen de la Peña

Once you make your way from the car into the pueblo you will first come upon this gorgeous cave located on the hilltop with a small chapel inside. Inside you can discover a shrine in honor of the Patron Saint of Mijas Virgen de la Peña. It´s located next to Mirador del Compas and has a unique gift shop with a restaurant to grab a coffee, soak in a bit of sun, and of course the views!

Whitewashed Streets (Instagrammable)

Get lost in these traditional Andalucian whitewashed streets. Beautifully decorated houses with flowers and bright pops of blues and pinks can be seen everywhere. Always be on the lookout for some small alleyways and gorgeous rincones or nooks for the most spectacular views and photo-opts.

Parque La Muralla

This quiet park is perfect in size with spectacular views of the city from above and the coast from below. The viewpoint really allows you to take in the sites of this gorgeous white town in Andalucía. It is aproximately a 10 minute walk through town.

READ ME! This pueblo is super accessible and easy to get to by bus or car. Upon arrival, there is a parking garage located under the tourist office. All day parking costs 1€.

Finding the Best Food

Try some authentic Spanish style cooking at Restaurante Bar El Niño rated #9 out of 37 on Tripadvisor! This eatery is located on Calle Campos 26, about a 9 minute walk from the main square. They offer outside seating, main bar area inside and upstairs seating with some spectacular panoramic views of the coast below. Sit back and enjoy!

For lunch we decided to go with a combination of raciones (smaller portions) to share for two. In total it cost us 27€ including a soft drink and a wine.

Here are a few highly recommended dishes for you to try:

-Croquetas de pollo caseras (homemade)
-Chorizo al Pimpi
-Hamburgesita en salsa champiñón

Travel with love and an open mind.
